General:

Used Book Sales  at the Clayton Community Library (Community Room) are presented by the Clayton Community Library Foundation.  Major sales are twice each year.  We have had a short sale in the summer for two years so far. [Used book donations may be made at the Library when it is open]

Paws to Read!

Children in grades 1-5: you can read aloud to a dog in our program! 

Starting January 31,  Tuesdays until March 6 , at 4:00 or 4:35
Registration by a parent is required, begins January 5, and is very limited

This program is meant to encourage children who need encouragement to read.  It is not a program to teach dog safety or to overcome fear of dogs!

  Student may sign up for a maximum of 3 sessions.


February 1, Wednesday - February 29, Wednesday

Go Bananas for Books!

 

For children K-3rd grade

Pick up a Reading Record at the Information Desk,
Color a banana for each book you read.
Bring the reading record back to the library when you have read 29 books and pick up your prizes!


February 7, Tuesday, 4:00 p.m. or 4:30 p.m.

Paws to Read!

Author Talk:  Marty Brounstein-Two Among the Righteous Few: A story of Courage in the Holocaust.

 

Author Marty Brounstein brings to life the true story of how Frans and Mien Wijnakker saved the lives of at least two dozen Jews living in southern Holland.

Creekside Arts Festival!

Friday evening, March 23nd (6:00-8:30pm), Saturday, March 24th (10am-6pm) and Sunday, March 25th (1-5pm).

Friday evening will include an artist’s "mini-showcase" and sampling of art sales, along with awards for juried artwork submitted within the "People" theme, a "live" raptor, music and refreshments.

Saturday & Sunday, more art sales with live demo’s. and workshops, environmental groups & nature tours, poetry, music and cultural performances. The weekend event is held throughout the inside of the library, Community room (Hoyer Hall), adjoining outdoor courtyard and interpretive area in the certified wildlife habitat.

Mountain Lore:  Mt. Diablo History and Author Talk with Rich McDrew 

 

Small Treasures tucked throughout Mount Diablo!  If you hike Mt. Diablo, or are interested in its history, you won't want to miss this!

Opportunity Junction Presentation

At Opportunity Junction, technology, literacy and personal development combine with real world experience to put people on the road to economic self-sufficiency.

Three months of unpaid training are followed with up to four months of paid internship using the skills introduced during training
