The Clayton Community Library Foundation is seeking participants for its 7th annual CREEKSIDE ARTS CELEBRATION!  as the library celebrates its 15th anniversary with the theme, “A Community Comes TogetherArts, Culture and Nature”. Join us and support this FREE benefit as we explore our cultural diversity through the arts and raise funds for environmental education programs in the library’s certified wildlife habitat. Highlighted will be both interactive visual and performing arts and entertainment for all ages, including art sales & workshops, cultural performances, storytelling, poetry, authors, environmental education groups and community participation. The highly successful juried artwork contest is to be repeated this year with awards given to artists who creatively interpret this years theme. Our own local artists group, Creekside Artists Guild, will be among artists selling and demonstrating their art forms. This event provides a great opportunity to raise public awareness about the arts, culture and biodiversity while showcasing our own library creekside certified wildlife habitat. See how science inspires art in “BioArt” works of art. The ever popular outdoor interpretive tour will return with photo opportunities led by renowned, local wildlife biologist and ethno-botanist, Jim Hale in addition to the “open mic” for poetry and a musical jam. NEW art workshops will be added this year.

This year's event will be held on Friday evening, March 5th (6:00-8:30pm), Saturday, March 6th (10am-6pm) and Sunday, March 7th (1-5pm). Friday evening will include an artists "mini-showcase" and sampling of art for sale, along with awards for juried artwork submitted within the theme, a “live” raptor, music and refreshments. Saturday & Sunday, more art sales continue with live art demo’s., environmental groups & nature tours, poetry and ethnic performances by the local community including Clayton Valley High Schools ClaytonArts Academy. The weekend celebration will be held throughout the inside of the library, Story and Community rooms, adjoining outdoor courtyard and interpretive area in the certified wildlife habitat.

Artists are requested to donate $30 for space to sell their work as well as a small percentage (20%) of their profits toward this fundraiser to support the arts & benefit environmental education programs in the library wildlife habitat and related library materials.
