Friday, March 5th 6-8:30 PM – Opening Reception

Display of Artist’s submissions of the juried theme.  Door prizes.

  • 6:30 PM – Native Bird Connections – introduces a “live” EURASIAN EAGLE OWL – introduced by Jenny Papka.  Join artist Julie Van Wyk while she paints this huge raptor, or try your own sketch
  • 7:00 PMBonafide, jazz musicians, Maria Meza Nurillo, violin, Mike on guitar
  • 7:30 PMPresentation of Awards, for juried art work depicting theme

 

Saturday, March 6th 10 AM-6 PM “Arts and Culture”

  • 2:00 Recycable Art Demo – Debbie DeSouza, owner Barter Bucks
  • 3:00 PM Miwok Tribe & Local Culture -Jim Hale, Ethnobotanist, Dept. of Fish and Game, will present artifacts and a brief slideshow of local sites including pictographs.
  • 3:30 Interpretive Tour to follow of nearby sites with photo opportunities.
  • 4:00 PM – Improv Workshop, CVHS Arts Academy…Sign-up now at the desk!

Sunday, March 7th 1-5 PM “Poetry & Musicians”

Art Sales continue with “live” demonstrations, Storytelling and Wildlife Activities continue

  • 1:00-Performance Poetry led by Tazuo Yamaguchi, National Haiku poetry winner & filmmaker, Shigin poetry, Gaelic poetry and Open Readings to follow!
  • 2:00 Diablo Taiko – Japanese drumming and Zenidaiko, Susan Nishizaka & Aki Rasmussen
  • 2:30 Samba Na Chuva –Brazilian Percussion Group, John Waller
  • 3:00 Jim Hudak – Light Rock on the Keyboard
  • 3:30 PM – Open Jam Session - join us as we close the weekend celebration
